What Kshethra is
Kshethra is an independent travel and pilgrimage guide to Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple in Sullia taluk, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. We publish practical planning information for devotees: darshan timings, the full seva and pooja list, the procedure and cost of Sarpa Samskara and Ashlesha Bali, the temple dress code, and travel routes from Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore and Hassan.
We are not the official website of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple Trust or the Karnataka government. For official announcements, seva bookings made directly with the temple, and legally binding information, always refer to the temple administration.
Why we built it
First-time visitors to Kukke consistently run into the same problems: unclear seva names and prices, confusion about which rituals require advance booking, uncertainty about the dress code, and no straightforward way to find a room during festival season. That information exists, but it is scattered across notice boards, phone calls, and word of mouth.
Kshethra started as a mobile app for devotees and grew into this website. The goal is narrow and deliberate: cover one temple properly rather than cover a thousand temples superficially.
How we source and check information
- Seva lists, timings and costsare compiled from the temple's published seva counter information and verified against what devotees report on the ground.
- Ritual procedures (Sarpa Samskara, Ashlesha Bali) are described as they are actually performed, based on devotee accounts and temple guidance — not as religious instruction.
- Travel routes and distances are checked against current road and rail data, including the nearest railhead at Subrahmanya Road.
- Prices and timings change. Temple fees and seva rates are revised periodically. We date our pages, but please confirm time-critical details with the temple before you travel.
Found something out of date or wrong? Tell us at support@mykshethra.in and we will correct it. Corrections are the fastest way to help other devotees.
How this site is funded
Kshethra is free to use. We keep it running three ways, and we would rather state them plainly than hide them:
- Affiliate commissions. Some accommodation links point to booking partners such as MakeMyTrip. If you book through one of those links we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
- Advertising. We may display third-party ads, including Google AdSense. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies work.
- Our free Android app. The Kshethra app offers offline temple information and nearby facilities.
Commercial relationships do not buy editorial coverage. We do not charge lodges for inclusion, and we do not accept payment to describe a seva or a property more favourably.
About our room request service
We are not a hotel, a lodge owner, or the temple guest house office. The temple administration manages its own guest houses separately. When you submit a room request, we help locate availability in nearby private lodges and hotels and confirm back over WhatsApp. Full detail is on the room booking page and in our terms.
